U.S. House of Representatives Vote to Remove Federal Protections from Gray Wolves - National Humane Education Society

Paws Down!

To the U.S. House of Representatives for passing H.R. 6784, The Manage Our Wolves Act, which will remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species List.

11/20/18

In a 196-180 vote on Friday, November 16th, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to end the federal protections that gray wolves have had for nearly half a century. The Manage Our Wolves Act—a bill introduced by Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy, will remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species List, making gray wolves “fair game” for recreational hunters and cattle ranchers who see these majestic animals as a threat to their livelihoods. It has taken nearly fifty years for the gray wolf population to flourish again, and now it is being threatened by the very agencies that were designated to protect it.

Take Action: Although the bill has made it through the House, the fight is not over. The Manage Our Wolves Act is heading to the Senate next, so please let your voices be heard! Contact your Senators today and ask them to vote NO on The Manage Our Wolves Act to save the gray wolves!
