To the Ohio Legislators for introducing House Bill 573 and Senate Bill 331 that will provide “puppy mill” dog suppliers a loop hole to sell their dogs to pet stores.puppy mills

The joy of having a puppy is experienced by many throughout the United States.  Puppies are the epitome of fun. These cute bundles emit playfulness, lots of kisses, and snuggles. The dark side of puppies is where some of them are procured from–puppy mills. Puppy mills exist for the sole purpose of making money with no thought to the welfare of the companion animals who birth these bundles of fun.  Light is slowly being shed throughout the United States on what a puppy mill is and who sells these dogs. Toledo, one of the largest cities in Ohio, passed a law banning the sale of puppy mill dogs, but some Ohio legislators are fighting back with several bills that will overrule this decision.

According to a recent news article, Ohio legislators have introduced House Bill 573 and Senate Bill 331 for approval. If passed, these bills will provide puppy mill suppliers with a loop hole that would allow puppy mills to sell their dogs to pet stores. They will also overrule the current ordinances that ban patronage of puppy mills in Toledo and Grove City, Ohio.

Take Action:  Ohio residents, contact your legislator to discourage that H.B. 573 and S.B. 331 be passed.
