NHES Leads Humane Education Workshop - National Humane Education Society

DSCN7673Last month, NHES humane educators brought our newly revamped “Teaching Kindness” Humane Education Workshop to the staff and volunteers of H.A.R.T. For Animals facility in Garrett County, MD.

NHES humane education coordinator, Megan Flinn (above) and NHES humane educator Megan Hessenberger have delivered unique  programs and activities teaching compassionate and responsible care of animals to thousands of youth ages 2 years to 14 years across the United States. Through the Teaching Kindness Workshop, attendees learned practical methods to partner with area schools and youth organizations and observed step-by-step demonstrations of humane education programs they can implement at the H.A.R.T facility. The workshop included constructive conversations about building rapport with youth, communicating with children, and keeping group attention.

NHES is offering affordable 2-hour and 4-hour workshops for animal welfare organizations seeking to offer humane education programs and activities in their own communities. NHES also offers humane education workshops for elementary school teachers. Thank you to H.A.R.T. for Animals for inviting us to visit your passionate staff and incredible facility!
