Paws Up!

To Massachusetts legislators for passing S 2369 that would protect companion animals left in hot or cold vehicles.

In the United States, companion animals have become more and more a part of our daily lives. With that inclusion, forethought is imperative when deciding to take beloved Buddy on a drive to run errands in the summer or winter months.

According to a recent news article, Massachusetts legislators have passed S 2369 that would protect companion animals left unattended in vehicles during frigid or scorching temperatures. S 2369 would protect first responders and good Samaritans trying to help the companion animals in distress.  A person found guilty would face a fine up to $150 for the 1st offense, up to $300 for the 2nd offense, and up to $500 for the 3rd offense.  S 2369 has been sent to Governor Charlie Baker and is awaiting his approval.
