To the Franklin County Board of Commissioners in Ohio for approving a program to offer free spay and neuter surgeries to low-income families.
According to a recent news article, shelters in Franklin County, Ohio, are overcrowded. As elsewhere in the nation, animal shelters can become
overcrowded when the community neglects to spay and neuter their animals. Some owners recognize the importance of spaying and neutering their pets, but cannot afford the surgery. Thankfully, a new program is underway in Franklin County, Ohio, to help solve this problem thanks to a new program that will provide free spay or neuter surgeries to the pets of low-incomes pet owners. To qualify, an individual must be 18 years or older and be at or below 150% of the poverty level.
Take Action: Franklin County residents, thank the board of commissioners for passing this important program to help humanely reduce companion animal overpopulation.
